Manifestation is often defined as the art or process of bringing thought into reality. In other words, it’s the mode by which our dreams and goals come to life. We’ve all done it in some way, whether it be landing that dream job, or conversely, losing out on opportunities due to self limiting beliefs. So how do you manifest? In this post, I outline the steps to take to make your dreams come true.
The Law of Attraction
Before we dive into how to manifest let’s start with defining the theory that it is built off of. The Law of Attraction is the theory that, energetically speaking, like attracts like. Meaning every being on earth and all of their thoughts, actions and feelings operate at a certain vibration or energetic frequency and attract opportunities in alignment with that vibration.
Setting the Stage
While you can begin your manifestation journey at any time or place, I usually consciously set aside time to do so around the time of my birthday. Some people do this during New Year’s time as well. I like to be in a space that feels comfortable, orderly, with smells and sounds that are comforting or exciting to me. I begin the process with counting the many blessings that I do have so that my mindset is already in a state of abundance, because, as mentioned previously–like attracts like. Regardless of when or how you choose to sit down and set your intentions, you’ll want to reflect on the past year and identify the changes desired in the year ahead.
Identifying the What
Determining what you want to manifest may be simple or difficult depending on your current situation. If you are unsure of what you want, start by taking inventory of what in your life is going well, want more of, and/or would like to change. Try doing this during meditation, while taking a walk, or simply when you have some quiet time for yourself.
Last year, for example, one of my goals was to focus on improving the physical aspects of my life, as I had put so much focus on other areas such as education (I finished my MBA in December of 2022!) Mainly, I wanted to lose weight and improve my aesthetics.
It’s all in a feeling – own it!
With the Law of Attraction, you attract what you focus on and at the vibration you are at. Focusing on the feeling and not the solution leaves room for the universe to be more creative with solutions that would address your desires. Framing these intentions as if you already have them allows for like energy to attract like. Last year I framed my goals, to myself and the universe, as wanting to feel good. I wanted to feel more attractive, more youthful and more mobile in a way that served my greatest good. I had my reasons, which I will go over in another post, but I had really let myself go and was feeling pretty low. Rather than focusing on NOT feeling low and overweight or obese, I put my thoughts on me actively feeling agile, happy and proud of myself. Then you set it and forget it. Trust that it is already yours.
Take Action
Meet the Universe halfway – manifestation doesn’t happen by itself. Live your life in alignment with the goals you want to manifest and put yourself in environments which enable opportunities to find you. If you are looking for a career opportunity that enables you to work from home, attend networking events related to your industry or peruse remote job boards to see if an opportunity strikes your fancy. Trust that what opportunities are meant for you are already yours. Operate from a place of exploration, rather than attachment. After all, the Universe sees everything.
